Sports Premium

Primary School Sport Premium is ring-fenced funding provided by the Department for Education, the Department of Health and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to be used in improving the quality and breadth of PE and sporting provision for all pupils.

We use the money for:
•  Specialist coaching input to improve teachers’ ability to deliver high quality PE across a range of disciplines
•  Curriculum advice
•  Support to increase competitive sport in school and to enable children to visit other sports facilities
•  Support for after school sports provision linked to competition

Since 2013 we have spent the money on:
•  Pennine Sports Partnership – this partnership facilitates and coordinates PE and sport across its member schools. It provides specialist coaching, organises sporting events with other local schools, and also a sports co-ordinator who visits the school once a week to help arrange and manage sporting activities in school
•  Street dance clubs
•  Skipping workshops
•  After-school clubs
•  Sports equipment and kit
•  Specialist dance lessons
•  Huddersfield Giants rugby training
•  Staff training
•  Coach travel to sporting tournaments
•  ETA support for sporting events and Forest School

•  Balanceability and Bikeability cycle training
