School meals

UIFSM/free school meals

Since September 2014 all children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 have been entitled to free school meals (Universal Infant Free School Meals or UIFSM). If you’re on a low income and receive certain benefits you may be eligible for additional support such as free milk and free school meals for children not in Reception or Years 1 and 2. To find out more call 01484 221928. All eligible parents should apply as it gives your child extra support and helps their school.

Payment for meals

Dinner money (currently £2.75 a day) should be paid in advance at the beginning of the week, using the online payment system ParentPay (details available from the school office). Parents may pay for the week, month or half term in advance. We request that two weeks notice be given to changes from packed lunches to dinners, and vice versa.

The School Food Trust has produced an informative booklet promoting school dinners called “Little Book of Goodness” which has been created to help you make the right choice for your child. A copy of this publication may be downloaded above.
